Is Loss Of Appetite Normal After Having Hemorrhoidectomy?

Hello, This past Monday, October 6, I had a hemorroidectamy(spelling?). The recovery has been slow and painful. I am not taking the prescription pain medication because it made me I ll. I am taking advil, stool softeners 2-3 times per day as well as metamucil as directed by my doctor. I do not have any sort of appetite whatsoever even though I know I need to eat. Is it normal to have this loss of appetite at this stage after surgery? What can I do about it? Thank you.

HI,
There is no association of loss of appetite and hemorrhoidectomy ,Its just a transient feeling of fear to defecate .
Start eating healthy food like more of green leafy vegetables and fruits ,avoid spicy and oily food .
If you are unable to eat food then start taking some juice.
And you should be fine dont think much regarding your illnes and continue to use the stool softener and other medications as prescribed
thank you
