Is Limb And Throat Burning Sensations A Matter Of Concern?

My mother has arterial dissection of the abdominal aorta. her medications in Losartan 100 mg, 1xd; hydralazin 25 mg, 3xd; metoprolol, 25mg, 2xd; and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 1xd. When she takes the hydralazine she gets burning sensations in her limbs and sometimes up the side of her throat. The doctor has dismissed this as nothing. Can you tell me if this is something we should be concerned about? It does make her want to skip the medication totally.

Hello and welcome.

The burning sensation will have to be investigated, although her doctor might be suspecting this to be a side effect of the medications, any/all circulatory abnormalities need to be ruled out. As for the pain at the side of her throat, I would recommend an EKG (ECG) at the same time she visits the hospital. If both these conditions are ruled out, then there should be nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
