Is Keratoma In Eye A Cause Of Concern?

2months ago I had a sclereal buckle put on my left eye. I have made an appointment to see a corneal specialist to schedule cataract surgery for that left eye. Now I have what my doctor says is a keratoma on my right eye. He didn't seem really concerned about this and told me to take an anti-inflammatory for a week or so. He seemed to think it was an allergic reaction. My main question is is it ok for me to wait almost a month to see the corneal specialist or should I get an appointment now. I am so concerned about having so many problems with both of my eyes! I am only 59. The buckle was installed because of a macular hole, thank you so much for any information.

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having keratitis following scleral buckle surgery. This can be because of infection and requires treatment by the use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
It is better to consult your cornea specialist for examination and treatment accordingly before the condition worsens.

Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope this is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
