Is It Wise To Start Humira Eight Weeks After A Bowel Resection For Crohns Inflammation?

Is it wise to start Humira 8 weeks after a bowel resection for crohns inflammation and an abcess when there is no present evidence of inflammation via blood work, stool sample and a CT scan? Immuran worked for several years and obviously failed to control the crohns.

Hi,

There is no problem to start Humira as a substitute treatment. But it will take some time to produce the wanted effect.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
