Is It To Be Concerned About Pebbles And White Specks In The Bowel?
hi i am experiencing bowel movement that is small pebbles and white speck in it. I am 55, 5 foot 1 and approx 190 pounds. my only health issue is hypertension that is managed with enalapril. I have been under a lot of stress due to spouse illness. My diet has changed in recent months because of my husband. what is the problem?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Small pebble and white specks in stool is indicative of less fiber, fluids and obviously stress related constipation or hard stool phenomenon. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Increase the fiber foods and lots of fluids in diet. Take Isabgol husk with warm water in the evening. If these also fail to alleviate the problems add on a laxative like Cremaffin plus at bed-time. Keep away the stress and have normal diet as before. X-ray and colonoscopy may be needed if the above measures fail.
