Is It To Be Concerned About Neoplastic Process Which Was Diagnosed Through A MRI?

My MRI result/impression:

1. Right anterior frontal lobe encephalomalacia likely due to a previous hemorrhage. Presence of a non-specific,ill-defined plague like enhancement within malacic cavity noted. Presence of vascular malformation cannot be excluded. A neoplastic process is considered less likely. What does that mean? Are there any medication / treatment that will prevent me for having a seizure again?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.
You have degenerative changes due to a previous hemorrhage in the brain. With the degenerative changes (encephalomalacia) ill defined enhancement is noted. It should not be a neoplastic process as the neoplastic process usually involves the brain parenchyma or develops from coverings of brain parenchyma. The enhancing portion can be a vascular malformation as stated in the report and it requires treatment otherwise there are chances for rebleeding. The treatment includes surgical/medical management depending on size of malformation. You need to consult a neurosurgeon/interventional radiologist for treatment of the same. First they will do an angiogram to confirm the diagnosis and then manage accordingly. Adequate treatment (medical/surgical) should prevent you from having a seizure again.
Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery.
