Is It Safe To Use Nuun Tablets Along With Lozartar?
I m 43 yo and been taking Atenolol since I was 32.After seeing a new doctor, he changed my meds to Lozartar. I vebeen reading up on it and said I have to avoid supplementswith Potassium. I enjoy running. Is it safe to use Nuun tablet? Should I limit eating foods that are rich in Potassium?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM. I appreciate your concern for the safety of Nuun tablets along with Lozartar. Lozartar (Losartan) is a drug used to treat high BP (Hypertension).
One of the important side effects of Losartan is increased serum potassium level. So, any supplement which contain potassium or sodium salt are not advisable to be taken along with Losartan, because hyperkalemia can be severe to cause irregular rate and rhythm of the heart beats (arrhythmias).
Hope this answers your query.
