Will Clarithromycin Tablets And Prednisolone Tablets Affect Pregnancy?

I just found out i am pregnant. My last period was 24th November. I was very ill in December (from 5th to 28th) i have taken 500mg of Augmentine and later 1000mg of Clarithomicine tablets along with 30mg of penisolone tablets (for a week) due to 2asthma attachs and heavy brochle infection know as mychroplazma. I am still with child and must be around 6weeks know. When i found i was pregnant i stop the antibiotics straight away (that was two week ago). Has this harmed my baby?

Hi,

Augmentin is quite a safe drug to be used in pregnancy and usually do not cause any side effects. Clarithromycin is usually not recommended to be used in pregnancy. Since you have taken only a few doses of the drug,the risk of fetal defect is very less. In case of fear / anxiety, you can take an anomaly scan at 11 weeks to rule out any fetal defects. Do not worry.
