Is It Safe To Use Medical Marijuana For Minimal Change Disease?

HI, I am the mother to a beautiful 5 year old baby girl. When she was 18 months she was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome. After a kidney biopsy it was confirmed the strain she has is Minimal Changer Disease. She has Nephrotic Syndrome Minimal Change Disease, can medical marijuana help her? shes been on Prednisolone and Prograf for the past year. She s been one prednisolone since she was diagnosed. The steroids have stunted her growth and currently every time I try to wean her off of them she relapses. I m desperate at this point, and I ve read of Medical Marijuana lowering Proteinuria. Is this true? I m willing to try anything to help my baby. I can t find any research anywhere. Please help me, please.

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Nephrotic syndrome is only remaining in remission with cortico-steroids only. There are no proven data that use of medical Marijuana lowers the proteinuria of the Nephrotic syndrome. Kindly consult her pediatrician for the regular time intervals for best therapy evaluation and management guidelines.
