Is It Safe To Travel While Suffering From Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy?

my 19 year old son was just diagnosed with cardiomyopathy after having a heart attack on 11/25. he had a cardiac catherterization and there were no blockages. he has since seen a cardiologist who performed a heart echo and diagnosed idiopathic cardiomyopathy. My husband & son were scheduled to take a 12 day tour in India and have since cancelled. My husband wants to take my son to California. The cardiologist said he can fly domestically. is this advised? He is on carvedilol 6.25 mg two times a day and feels ok.

HI
Well come to HCM
As long as the cardiac myopathy is concern it is all depends upon the severity of the disease, if your son being advised by cardiologist not to travel by air then this need to be followed because cardiologist better known the clinical condition of your son, hope this information helps.
