Is It Safe To Take Zithromax For Throat Infections? Should I Get Tested For Mild Dysplasia?

Hi my name is Luisa Ponce and I recently visited my Dr. who told me that I need to have a microscopical study to find out about a condition called mild displasia. I would like to know what is it and how is it acquired? I also had a throat irritation from cough and he prescribed me a five days Zithromax antibiotics , is that antibiotic recommended for cold throat infections? My e-mail is YYYY@YYYY

HI I have gone through your mail as you asked about antibiotic Zithromax for throat infection. Regarding your this question I would like to tell you that correct antibiotic will always be decided by inference of culture and sensitivity of throat swab but this test takes about 72 hours,therefore till report of culture and sensitivity comes one would like to prescribe broad spectrum antibiotic and Zithromax is one of them. Your second question is about dysplasia, for this I would like to tell you that dysplasia means change in microscopic picture of tissue, it is caused by chronic irritation, prolong contact,and by some chemicals like-nicotine etc. Thanks.
