Hi,

Yes, it may be taken safely. Based on the history your doctor has prescribed the antibiotic Levobact apparently for respiratory tract infections. Generally it is well tolerated however its common side effects include abdominal pain, diarrhea, photo-sensitivity (skin rash upon exposure to sun light), and very rarely tendon injuries. It is not necessary that you get all those rare side effects, so continue to take it as prescribed and report to your doctor if you experience the troublesome side effects.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
