Is It Safe To Take Contraceptive After Condom Tears During Sex?

My boyfriend and I just had sex. He has warts on his penis but is getting them treated with liquid nitrogen every week. They are almost gone. We always use a condom and i'm not on Birth control but today the condom broke.... It was before he came but there is probably pre-cum right? So my question is how likely is it for me to get warts or some sort of disease from him and how likely is it that I may be pregnant. Would it be helpful for me to take plan b or another emergency conterceptive?Any other advise concerning the warts or pregnancy?

Thank you!!!

Hi,

If you were having sex with condom and it broke then you must take emergency contraceptive pill, plan B or any other similar pill as early possible and best within 24 hours though there is a 72 hours time limit to take it.

If you do not take the emergency pill, the risk for pregnancy persists. Having a pill will reduce the risks of pregnancy by 90 - 95 %. Even if he did not ejaculate, the pre cum can contain sperms which might allow a pregnancy.

For warts and other diseases, if he has been your partner for a long time and both of you are faithful to each other then there is no need to worry for other infections. Considering warts, you might also have the human papilloma virus infection as it is very common and can be transmitted by kissing, hugging and close body contact including sex. However please do not worry because most people do not get symptoms.
