Is It Safe To Take Amitriptyline For A Person With A History Of Breast Cancer?

I am a 25 year breast cancer survivor and my Gastroenterologist wants me to go on amitriptyline to relax the gut since I have diverticulitis. I understand this is to increase serotonin which is a hormone and I wonder if this is a safe treatment for me with my history of breast cancer?
