Is It Safe To Take Razo D And Lesuride For Acid Reflux?

Hi,My name is sachin (age 34). I am suffering from Acid Reflux from the last 3-4 years which cause little headache, neck pain & little throat infection in the morning. Whenever i eat something it immediately comes up & continuous burping occurs, post that i face heartpain, headache, neckpain which disturb me mentally a lot.I have undergone 2DECHO, endoscopy, esophagus manometry, cromogranin A, all that tests are negative.I also visited TOP doctors in mumbai Lilavati hospital (Dr.Aniruddha Phadke) & Hinduja hospital (Dr. philip abrahim) They suggested tablets & antacids which did not help.I approached my family doctor who is general surgeon & consulting gastoentrologist, who suggested Razo 20,lesuride,tricane MPS gel, vitaguat. I searched on internet about these medicines & found effective in GERD. Today i started to take medicines. Can u please share your valuable advise on the same???

hi..
thanks for your query..
i completely understand your concern regarding acid reflux disease.
let me first explain you briefly about GERD - gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
This is chronic (long term) disorder in which gastric acid (required for digestion) re-fluxes from stomach into the oesophagus causing heart burn, cough, neck pain, continuous burping, throat pain and pain between the shoulder blades. The most common reason for developing this problem is due to abnormal lower esophageal sphincter. this structure is at present at the end of oesophagus and it normally holds up preventing the stomach contents (acid and bile juice) from enter into oesophagus. when this sphincter relaxes abnormally, it leads to acid reflux.
acid reflux disease sometimes causes severe injury to oesophagus leading to its inflammation and strictures. you said your endoscopy and other tests are all negative so you need not worry about complications at this point of time.
If i encounter a similar case in my clinic i would have suggested the same medications like Tab. RAZO OR OMEZ 20mg on empty stomach early morning, tab. LESURIDE 25mg twice daily, Tricaine mps gel.
Razo or Omez help in decreasing the excessive acid production from the stomach lining. Lesuride is a pro-kinetic agent used in GERD and Tricaine gel contains ALUMINIUM and MAGNESIUM hydroxides which neutralizes the excessive acid. All these drugs are effective in managing Acid reflux disease. i would suggest you to start the treatment immediately. Hope i answered all your queries. have a good health. thank you
