Is It Safe To Take Norhisterone During Menstrual Periods?

Hi my 18 year old daughter has been prescribed norhisterone to delay her period but she has already started her period and wants to know if it is safe or of any benefit to take it now whilst she is bleeding as she still wants it delayed due to travelling. Thanks

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Norethisterone is useful to postpone or advance a menstrual cycle only when taken well before the onset of the period. In the current scenario, it is not going to serve the purpose. However, if the bleeding is persistent or heavy, it can be used to stop the bleeding and maintain the cycle with a course. Hope this helps.
