Is It Safe To Take Aspirin During Pregnancy?

Hello My wife is 6 months pregnant. Previously she did have miscarriage at 8 week (no heartbeat, no development of foetus - forced miscarriage) without any specific reason. I have two questions. 1) After miscarriage we avoided pregnancy for 6 monghs and then consulted gynac. She prescribed her folic acid and aspirin. after one month she concived. The gynac adviced to continue both the drugs. Even after 6 months pregnancy gynac suggesting to continue Aspirin (75 mg) till the delivery. Should we take another opinion or see other gynac ? I am a pharma post graduate and found some controversial effects of aspirin (even in mild dose) during pregnancy. 2) Can she travel in seating train journey (3 hrs journey) ?

Hello sir,I understand your concern.in my opinion aspirin is given in cases of recurrent abortions and intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR).as yours was forced miscarriage and was only once might be your gynae is suspecting any IUGR so she might have prescribed it.so make clear for what its being prescribed and ofcourse you can also take a second opinion.aspirin does
not harm the pregnancy but it has sideeffects like gastritis .etc. and it is to be given in indicated cases.yes your wife can travel by train for 3 hrs as it is second trimester it is safe to travel .
