Is It Safe To Have Sex Life After Giving Birth To A Baby?

I have an 8 week old baby who is exclusively breastfed, I have had unprotected sex with my partner twice then was out on the mini pill cerazette. Have had unprotected sex 3 days since I started taking it. Will the pill be in my system yet? Also have ha sporting the last few days but I also had this the first and second time I had axe since having my baby! Am really confused! I thought of I am exclusively breastfeeding I can t get pregnant but also shouldn t have a period so am confused about the sporting. Could it be where I haven t had sex for a while?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Breast feeding is considered to be a natural contraceptive, but it is not a 100% effective. Ypur bleeding could be as a result of the pills you are taking, and so I would not be worried. But I would also recommend a sufficient gap of aroumd 4-8 weeks post-partum to help recover, as early initiation of your sex life can also be a cause for the bleeding.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
