Is It Safe To Have Low Lying Posterior Placenta?

Hello, I am 27 weeks pregnant and my abdominal ultrasound shows a low lying posterior placenta, 1 cm from internal os. What is the chance that I ll have a normal delivery? I am really worried. What are the chances that the position will be correct at delivery time and by when can it be confirmed, I mean when should I get an ultrasound done next. FYI, this is my second delivery, the first one was a normal one. Thanks a lot.

Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
The placenta when placed lower and close to internal is if cervix can cause bleeding before delivery.
As you are only 27 weeks there is not much reason for worry as the placenta may migrate above.
You need to avoid intercourse, constipation
And heavy exercise.
I would recommend capSUSTEN 200 mg twice a day till 36 weeks.
A repeat ultrasound to be done again at 36 weeks.
Please write back with reports and any queries if you have about your pregnancy .
Thanks
