Hi,I want to ask two things. My baby is now 6weeks old,is it safe to give her cows milk? and then a friend told me that nan and lactogen are no longer going to be used by hospitals because leaves a fatty layer around the heart and causes heart problems later in life is that true? Simone
A 6 weeks baby only need EXCLUSIVE BREAST FEEDING nothing else not even a drop of water.and for cows milk no one(even adult) should take it as it unpasturised .
Welcome to HCM.
You can give cow milk to your baby but it should be well pasturised.
If you baby tolerate it than well and good.
Nan and lactogen are made for infant feed so there is special formula in it,there is no harm to give it if breast milk is not sufficient.
