Hi... There is no alternative that could replace breast milk to an infant less than 6 months of age. However under extreme circumstances the alternatives are soya milk, cow milk are the alternatives.. However these circumstances are more like the general condition of the mother preventing breast feeding and not low milk productions.. Practising good breast feeding tips should be able to over come this problem.. Learn the proper method of breast feeding..

There is no alternative that could replace breast milk to an infant less than 6 months of age. However under extreme circumstances like no production of milk even after trial of some medicine or some illness of motheror any mishappening, the alternatives are milk formula, less preffered cow milk or very less buffallo milk.
give breast feed every time & when u feel that ur baby crying even after feeding than give top feed. top feed should not give by bottle, it should give by spoon.
Give good diet to mother, allow her to take rest properly. allow comfortable environment to mother & child.

Hi, I am a new mom and I strongly feel that you should have your wife continue to breastfeed, the more she feeds only then the milk supply will come up. If you give supplements to your baby, that means, he will nurse less and supply cant come up. It is tiring for her but she has to do it. Let her lie down and nurse with him, sleep take rest and drink LOTS of WATER plus milk and other liquids. This helps a lot in building up the supply. Other thing is, she should've methi or fenugreek boiled in water and mix it with milk and drink. Also shatavari one tsp in milk 2-3 times definately builds up milk supply. Hope this helps. Good luck. Also, do not give cows milk till baby is one year old. If you've to supplement, then you should give formula.
