General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
i would suggest cold sponging along with the meftal p you have given. meftal p has one of the ingredients paracetamol, so you do not have to give paracetamol(crocin) with it. since the fever is associated with chills and rigors i would suggest a blood test for malaria parasite to rule out malaria. if malaria is ruled out, appropriate antibiotics should be given depending on the infection. for the time being do cold sponging and continue giving meftal p eighth hourly and make an appointment with a physician for further evaluation. hope you are satisfied with the response. thanks for choosing HCM
