Is It Safe To Get A Shot In Occipital Nerve For Myalgia?

I was diagnosed with occipital myalgia by my neurologist. This was due to an assault and being repeadetly struck and punched in the head at work by a doped up patient. Im not getting any relief. He suggested a shot in the back of the occipital nerve. Is this safe??

It should be fine in experienced hands and there is hardly any other treatment if you are not getting relief by pain killer medicines. So I would advice you to go ahead and it could give you good results if your Doctor does it regularly and has a fair amount of experience in the procedure. All the best. Take care
