Is It Safe To Breast Feed While Suffering With Pancreatitis?
Hi, I am a Nurse at a small rural hospital. We have a 23 year old menonite woman with Pancreatitis. Is it safe for her to breast feed with pancreatitis? She is not taking any pain meds or antibiotics at this time. He amylase is 1200. she is NPO but getting IV fluids.

Yes. It is safe to breast feed but as she is under NPO , the is better to delay for 24 hours. you should consult me after the patient starts taking orally
