Is It Normal To Have Visible Swollen Lymph Node In 2 Years Old?

my son is 2; has had a swollen lymph node since May 2010 that varies in size but has never gone back down. Originally he had a double ear infection; it s even larger now due to a recurrent double ear infection diagnosed today. I want to know if it could be something more than this; it is not normal to have a visible lymph node 7mos. They keep saying it is ok.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, the lymph node enlargement will persist up to the time of ear infection. Once the ear infection is fully controlled, the lymph node will normalize.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi , General & Family Physician
