Hi,

I will do my best to give you a satisfactory answer. After a colposcopy procedure, it is common to have some spotting and discharge, and maybe even mild cramping. This is usually from the site of the biopsy, if a biopsy was done. However, heavy bleeding like a period, or severe cramping is not normal. If that continues, you should see your doctor to figure out what is wrong, or go-to the emergency room if it is severe.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,
Dr. Saul Weinreb
