Is It Normal To Get Headaches,tingling And Numbness In Fingers While Having Encephalitis?
my daughter is 3 years old and 33 lbs. July 10, 2011 she was diagnosed with encephalitis. She continues to complain of headaches and now is complaining that her fingers are hurting (I suspect they are tingling or numb since she hasn t had any injury) The doctors have said there was nothing they could do for encephalitis except run it s course. It has been almost two months. Should she receive a second option or consult with a neurologist?

Encephalitis is an acute event and its effects would not progress for two months. She needs assessment if her symptoms are getting worse. However, if encephalitis resulted in brain damage, the sequelae can remain for long.
