Is It Normal To Feel Numbness & Pain While Getting On The Knee Hit By A Metal Pole A Month Back?

I fell on a mental pole resulting in a cut on my upper shin slightly under my knee. Upon further investigation, I saw a large lump above the cut. It was very sore, but no bruise appeared. There is also numbness. It has been at least a month since I fell, and it's still excruciatingly painful to get on that knee, and there now seems to be a dent. I can push down on the top lump and feel my blood pushing into my vein. Still has numbness. Is this a contusion? What should I do?

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Feeling numbness at the site of impact could be due to injury to superficial nerve fibres.Adequate rest for a few days .Ice packing over the affected area once in 2 hours. Once the acute pain subsides, Moist heat application over the affected muscles.you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
