Is It Normal For Cold Sore On Upper Lip To Be Protruding?

Hello! I ve had a cold sore on my upper lip for the past 3 months now. It just popped out of nowhere and it won t seem to go away. I m positive it is not from any sexual performances because I have not done anything like that. I think what may be causing it to stay longer is because for the first month I tried to cover it with makeup, and then as I grew more impatient it was hard for me to not mess with it. As of right now, it s been bleeding and somewhat scabbing lately, but it seems to be protruding outward somewhat. Is this normal? What can I do to make it go away asap??

Hello,
Cold sores (Herpes labialis) typically stays only for 7 to 10 days and not more than that. I you have a skin lesion which stays for 3 months on upper lip then you should get it checked out by a dermatologist immediately.
