Is It Dangerous To Put Pressure On The Sinus By Blocking The Nose?

Hi I'm 178cm, 75kg, male. I don't have any previous medical history.
I have a strange question. When I pressurize my sinuses by covering my nose and pressing air into my head(the way you do while diving under water), I hear a squeaky sound for as long as I continue, and afterwards I might loose my balance, but It's followed by a sense of sharpened eye sight. It also gets easier to breath through my nose for a couple of hours. What worries me is if it's dangerous, or if I should get my nose bone fixed. So I can breath easily through my nose permanently. This problem started a few years ago after a fight and I got hit on my nose.

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
You are performing Valsalva Maneuvre. It is a normal thing that by doing this maneuver ,the Eustachian tube opens producing a sound. It is a tube which connects the nose with the ear and helps in equalization of middle ear pressure with the outer atmospheric pressure.

The cause of your nasal blockage might be a deviated nasal septum after a nose injury. It would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist to have Nasal endoscopic examination of your nose to find out the cause and treat accordingly.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
