Is It Advisable To Increase Glyburide?

what does it mean when you are told to take blood sugar 2 hs after the biggest meal of the day every other day, and am/ac every other day. He will maintain a CBG diary and bring it back to next exam. We will consider increasing glyburide from 5 mg bid to 7.5 mg bid.

Hello,
in case your blood sugar levels are high on present dose of glyburide, then obviously the dose has to be increased.
This is perfectly normal in the course of a diabetic.
As the time advances, beta cells of pancreas starts dwindling in number and hence you need more of medicines to stimulate the remaining beta cells.
These beta cells are responsible for the production of insulin.
Thanks
