Is Increased HCG Level A Sign Of Miscarriage?

Ok so heres the story... So I was supposed to get AF last Wednesday but she was a no show. I took a HPT on Thursday and got a BFP! Took a test everyday till sunday and got a BFP. Then later Sunday night I start bleeding moderately and having cramps. I go to ER and they take blood test my HCG is 5.05 Doctor tells me to come back in 48 hours to retest blood. Now the doctor just called and tells me that my HCG has risen to a level 6..I was positive I had a miscarriage and was becoming ok with that result until I got this call. Now I m really confused...has this happened to anyone with a positive outcome? Any and all responses are welcomed. Thanks

Hi,

Increase in levels of HCG- especially the doubling of levels in 48 hours suggests a normal viable pregnancy. If the levels decrease then it suggests miscarriage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
