Is Heavy Period And Diarrhea After Undergoing D&c Normal?

A week ago today I had a d&c for a miscarriage. I was 9 weeks along when I lost the baby. I had very small amounts of bleeding and very mild cramping for the first few days after the procedure. For about 3 days, I have been bleeding similar to a period. My nurse says it can t be a period because it usually takes 4-6 weeks to arrive. I have cramping and lower/middle back pain. The pains in my back can get pretty intense. The biggest concern is the fact that I have diarrhea. Should I be worried? My nurse seems to be a little concerned.

Hi,

Prolonged bleeding can happen after D&C and it will settle with itself over time.

You can take drugs like Tranexamic Acid to control bleeding.

Diarrhea is not common after this procedure.

If symptoms persist you can consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
