General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
This is what's called fibrocystic breast syndrome and it doesn't put you at a greater risk for breast cancer. There is no specific treatment for it but it can make a manual breast exam a bit difficult for finding a new mass so you need to have follow up mammograms about every three years.
