Is Gestational Diabetes And High Amniotic Fluid Harmful For Fetus?

i did 20 weeks ultrasound and doctor said that the amniotic fluid is more so they advice me for stomach bubble sonography other body parts of fetus are normal and my GTT test result is little bit high so doctor said its gestrational diabetes I am worried about all these give me proper answer what happen to baby because of all these.

I understand your concern.
Gestational diabetes is a cause of increased amniotic fluid. The explanation is as follows.
Due to gestational diabetes, fetal blood sugar is raised & this leads to excessive urination in fetus ( osmotic effect ).. which causes increased amniotic fluid in gestational diabetes.
As an effect of gestational diabetes, apart from maternal complications, fetus has high birth weight/pregnancy can turn in premature labor, abnormal fetal presentation during child birth.

Please don't worry these can be prevented by controlling gestational diabetes by life style changes & few medications (as per advise by treating doctor )
