Is General Anesthesia Advisable While Suffering From Raynaud S Disease And Sleep Apnea?

Hi this is kala i am 38 years of age 5 foot 4 inches 200 pounds . I have utrine septum in my uterus thats needed to be removed via operative hysteroscopy. I am so terrified that this type of surgery at my doctor s office needed to be done under general anesthesia and since i have some health issues i am very scared and concerned of what will happen to me under general anesthesia while i have these medical issues. I have herital hernia, Reynolds disease and sleep apnea as well as a little high cholesterol and i also have panic attacks and phobia from going under general anesthesia.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

So far as Raynaud's disease is concerned, there is no problem with undergoing general anaesthesia. People with sleep apnea might be more likely to have complications after major surgery because they're prone to breathing problems, especially when sedated and lying on their backs. Before you have surgery, tell your doctor about your sleep apnea and how it's being treated.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
