Is Fluid Build Up In Scrotum Normal After Removal Of Testicle?

Yesterday I had to have a orchiopexy on my right testicle. My urologist discovered a mass attached to the testicle. During the surgery they tried to separate the testicle from the mass and could not. So they removed the whole testicle. My question now is about the scrotum. Of course the right side is empty now but there appears to be fluid building up in that chamber. It is not painful but there is bruising on my penis and scrotum. Is this fluid build up normal? There is still room and it has not filled to where the scrotum is stretched

Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone Orchidectomy and have noticed swelling of scrotal sac on the affected side.

This is mostly due to dead space that has been created by removal of testis being filled with either blood or inflammatory fluid .

Please consult operating surgeon ..

Use of tight dressing and drugs like antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications will help to reduce the swelling .
