Is Fever A Side Effect Of Taking Azithromycin?

Thank you...I am on day 2 of antibiotic azithromycin. Yesterday I took 2 tablets and today one. Yesterday evening and all of last night and most of today I was running no fever but it came back up to 100.5 late this pm. Should I be concerned? I also didn t take any ibuprofen today

No, fever is not side effect of taking Azithromycin. Fever should be caused by the infection you are having. Yes, fever of 100.5 is concerning. Fever of 100.5 means there is still infection in your body & azithromycin should be continued.
You have also not taken any ibuprofen, which is anti-inflammatory medicine. Therefore skiping ibuprofen for the day should be the reason of getting fever in the evening. You are advised to take ibuprofen as prescribed by your doctor. If your doctor has not prescribed ibuprofen or any other anti-inflammatory medicine, you could take ibuprofen twice a day along with azithromycin. Consult your physician if fever still persists
