Is Epitril Effective For Anxiety & Depression?

i m 32 yrs ,doctor told me that u r suffering from anxiety(depression & tension).all medical reports r normal.he suggested me epitril 0.5mg when do i feel fear,etc .IS EPITRIL 0.5MG IS RIGHT & TAKING IT REGULARLY IS GOOD .IF ANY SIDE EFFECTS R THERE PLZ TELL ME???I DONT WANT HABITOUL OF THIS MEDICINE.

Hello Welcome to HCM

Epitril consists of Clonazepam and it is a benzodiazepine drug. The drug is commonly used in controlling anxiety symptoms and to calm patient. Over all clonazepam is a safe drug and it is free of serious side effects, but common side effects are-
-Sedation and excessive sleepiness. Excessive sedation in morning may cause hangover like symptoms.
- Memory impairment in long term use is also main problem.
- Dizziness on high doses is also common.
- Most distressing side effect is abuse potential. The drug has high addiction potential. Withdrawal may result in lowering of seizure threshold.

As per my opinion take the medicines for the time it is prescribed by your doctor. It is usually advised to not to take the drug regularly as it may cause dependence. Reserve the drug for SOS use only.
