Is Ear Pressure And Pain Sign Of Wisdom Tooth?

Ihad ear pressure and friend that is a nurse looked inside and said I had a large ball of wax. She had me irrigate my ear with a sringe with a small plastic tube to put in the ear canal. I irrigated my ear several times with a lot of pressure for 4 days. The wax is out but thethe pressure and pain is still there around my ear and jaw. Its worse in the morning and at night. Not sure if I applied too much oressure or if it could be my wisdom tooth.

Hi..
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..

As per your complain ear pressure and pain along with pain in the jaw can occur due to a few conditions like:
1.Temporomandibular joint disorder[TMJ], which is disorder in the jaw joint due to a number of causes like grinding of teeth, teeth clenching habit, overuse of the joints like chewing gums for most of the day, trauma, arthritis etc..

2.Wisdom tooth related pain like in case of Pericoronitis which is inflammation of the gum flap covering the wisdom tooth..

3.It can also occur due to ear originating disorders like excessive wax deposition, infections lilke Otitis media in which fluid accumulates in the middle ear causing blockage of Eustachian tube and Eustachian tube dysfunction..

These conditions can lead to ear pressure and pain and pain can even radiate to jaw..

I would suggest you to better consult an ENT surgeon as well a Dentist and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the diagnosis after proper clinical examination..

As of now you should sleep with the head slightly raised by keeping pillows and can take painkiller like Ibuprofen or tramadol if pain is severe..

Hope this information helps..
