Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Drowsiness Along With Excessive Sleepiness In An Infant A Matter Of Concern?
My 14 month old daughter has been acting very tired for almost a week. She has been taking 3 naps a day (which she hasn’t done for 8+ months, normal for her is 2 naps a day), waking up in the morning a half an hour to an hour latter then normal, and just drowsy in general. Otherwise no other symptoms, but as this has been going on almost a week I am getting very worried.
Unless the kid is having neck stiffness or neurological deficits or lethargy which means that she is not waking up from her sleep or it is very difficult to wake up from sleep or excessive vomiting, you need not worry about sleepiness in this season which could be because of ambient temperature changes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
