Is Dilated Pupils Post Head Injury Requires Attention?
Hi, my 5 year old daughter fell and hit her head the night before last. We took her to see a nurse and were told she was ok. A day later I have noticed her pupils are dilated. Is this cause for concern and if so should I take her to the er now or can it wait untill morning? (She is sleeping) thank you
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your 5 year old daughter had head injury. This requires evaluation by CT scan to rule out concussion injury as pupils are dilated. Dilated pupils may be a sign of head injury. Hence she needs immediate attention and I advice you to take her to emergency room.
Thank you
