Is Diagnosis Of Mild Lateral Ischemia A Cause For Concern?

I have a long history of heart disease. Quad-bi pass in 1995. 6 stents since, 2001, 2012, 2010, 2013. have had some mild chest pain the last 6 weeks. had an nuke stress test today. i have mild lateral ishchemia. my cardiologist said to up my dose of amlodipine from 5mg to 10mg, come back end of Jan 2017 for a follow up. they said we probably do not need to cath now. I am worried though. my doctor and hosp is Vanderbilt Heart, so pretty top notch medical care. Thoughts?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Take ECG and get checked by cardiac surgeon for post operative checkup. Ultrasound myogram may be done, further blockage of artery is to be checked. Drug mentioned and recommended are to treat hypertension. Mylogram can be done and hypertensive profile should also be done. Take medication as advised by treating physician, and you have to follow the advise of the cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
