Is Cryosurgery Procedure Used After Undergoing An Abortion?

Hi, I had an abortion two weeks ago. Today was my follow up and after the doctor examined me and started to stick an instrument into my vagina. When i asked what it was, he said it would help close my cervix and make my abortion undetecable. I assumed it was normal and did not question. After the doctor left I looked up the machine and online it said it is used for cryosurgery. Us this a normal procedure or should I be worried?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Cryosurgery is not generally recommended after abortion, as the pregnancy changes in the cervix have not completely reverted back and hence it can also harm the cervix.
Cryosurgery is generally used for excessive cervical discharge, not treatable by antibiotics.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
