OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
well , the cardiac activity starts by 28th day of embryo life. if at 8.3.. CRL = 6 weeks and 3 days, still if there is no cardiac activity, then unfortunately it is rightly opined as missed abortion. the option is, to either wait for another week and repeat an ultrasound to reconfirm the cardiac activity. this option is given to the couple considering the emotional state of the mother. but usually it happens that after the loss of cardiac activity naturally bleeding(abortion) ensues within 7-10 days. if in next week again the cardiac activity is not seen , then it is a missed abortion and means to abort by medical methods should be employed under your gynae's supervision.
