Is Contraction And Pain Symptoms Of Abortion After Taking Cytotec?
Hi,
I'm 27 years old, I'm 2 weeks pregnant, i tried Cytotec yesterday for abortion, but no blood showed up, i saw my doctor today and he said that the sac doesn't exist yet; any chance the operation stopped especially since i do feel stronger today after very tiring two days where i felt so week and sleepy all the time, additionally there is a small drops of blood appeared after 6 hours from taking the pills i could hardly notice then it stopped, and i felt the symptoms of contraction and the period hard pain, would that be a good indicator ?

Understand your concern
Yes contraction and slight bleeding are good indicator of abortion. Normally it will start after the 45-50 minutes after taking cytotec. Sometime extra dose may be needed to induce abortion that will be decide by the gynecologist depending on clinical features.
Sometime bleeding may be delayed by 72-96 hours, so you can wait for bleeding. Misoprostol 800 ug after 8 hour should be given under observation to induce bleeding.
If no more bleeding then consult the gynecologist and get the done USG to confirm the retain product. If it will be there then should be treated by misoprostol under observation or by D & C.
Normally after bleeding also, go for USG at 14th day to confirm complete process of abortion for safe practice.
