Is Celebrex Advisable Before Surgery ?
5 1/2 years ago, I had a bloody stool and an endoscopy showed I had a bleeding ulcer from taking pain meds without enough water. Now I m having surgery and the doctor prescribed Celebrex the night before the surgery and for a few days following. Is it OK to take the Celebrex?

It is not advisable to take celebrex before surgery. Celebrex is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug commonly prescribed to treat painful conditions like arthritis, tooth ache, or menstrual pain. Its common side effects include stomach ulcer and bleeding.
Beside you seemed to have had bleeding ulcer earlier so it may increase the risk of bleeding after the proposed surgery. It should be stopped one week before surgery.
