Is Cataract Surgery Safe While Being On Medication For Hypertension?
Hello Doctor... My dad is 78 years old and has been advised cataract surgery. I would like to know if it is safe and also considering the fact that he has been on medication for hypertension for a very long time. He is otherwise active and fit. Also what would be the approximate cost of the surgery in Kolkata, West Bengal
Hello Cataract surgery is absolutely safe in people with hypertension on treatment provided the blood pressure is in normal range. He has to continue taking drugs for hypertension on the day of surgery and after surgery also ashe was taking the drug before surgery. The cost of the surgery depends on the type of surgery. Small incision catrarct surgery will cost around Rs. 10000 and phacoemulsification will cost around Rs 25000.
Thank you
