Is Body Smelling Alcoholic Means Liver Is Getting Overloaded?
people around my stepson complain of his alcohol smell from his body. its stronger than being around someone thats had a few drinks. he is a very heavy drinker and has been over 25 years. the smell seems to be there every day. is this a sign of the liver is finally getting too overloaded?
Change in body smell or alcohol smell in chronic alcoholic can occur due to following reasons: -Alcohol intoxication causing alcohol smell in breath. -Liver problem: causing poor metabolism and leading to ammonia like smell. -Bad body odor can also occur due to poor hygiene in chronic alcoholics.
Same time, it is better to get his liver function test done to get information about liver pathology.
