Is Blood Sugar Level Of 122mg/dl Normal?

Good evening! My dad is 80 years old, received insulin in the morning and evening. 20 in the morning and in the evening 11 units. Now his legs were shaking, could not walk. Sugar has a 122 mg / dL. A few years ago he had a stroke and operated a boil. There are problems with the heart. Is this a normal sugar? Pressure has 141/76 and 46 heartbeats. What should I do? THANK YOU!

Welcome to hcm,
His blood sugar is normal. But I feel that immediately after insulin he might experience such problems. I advice you to have food immediately after insulin injections. If shivering occurs take a immediate blood sugar reading at the time of episode other causes of shivering in elderly is due to parkinsonism and thyroid problems. I wish you to evaluate and meet your endocrinologist with your fasting and postprandial blood sugar results. He might need a slight change in his insulin regimen depending upon the time he gets the low sugar. Hope this explains.
